The Boy

8:30 am this morning my mother and I was at Jose Reyes Memorial Medical Center, we go straight ahead to the radiology department, as usual a bunch of people and patients are in the waiting area, some are waiting for their turn on x-ray, ultrasound, and like us some are waiting for the result.

These days its so difficult to get sick especially if you don't have the money to spend for your illness. Man, woman, girl, boy, young and old are in the waiting area, some are loosing their patience because its taking a long time to call their name for the result.

While waiting i notice the father and son sitting beside me, the boy was 13 to 15 years old, the boy was so thin and his stomach is big, his feet is "manas" (Swelling of the limbs, especially of the lower legs). The boy was holding 1 liter of mineral water, the nurse tell them to drink a lot of water before the ultrasound but the boy couldn't drink it a lot, so the nurse tell the boy to drink at least the 3/4 of the water. I heard the boy asking his father why his stomach is so big the father told him that after the ultrasound they will know why. I saw them enter the ultrasound room, after the ultrasound I heard that he needs to admit immediately, but I heard him refuse he wants only to take medicine, I thought he thinks that there is no enough money to spend for his illness.

I notice that I was nearly to cry, all I can do for is to pray for him for getting well very very soon, after all prayer is most powerful spiritual tools . 

Its a small world after all, I hope that if I saw him again he's illness is gone.
